The homeless population in California has grown tremendously over the years (stats? by how much?). Although California is not at the very top of homeless population in the United States with Hawaii being the first and New York City as the second which leaves California to be the third. California is so populated with homeless people that you could simply walk or drive within a 10 mile radius and see a homeless person. 

They are easy to find, they are in parks, bus stops, supermarkets, liquor stores, gas stations and in abandoned houses in your neighborhood. 
-why in these locations? 
- what locations or resources are out there for the homeless? is this something you want to write about and get in to? 

In an interview with a homeless man named John, you are able to see how difficult it is for homeless people. He describes were he sleeps he explains how people are rude to him. People always think oh that homeless guy wants cash for drugs. When sometimes that’s not even the case they want cash for food or maybe even some clothes. 
-if you are going to mention John then you are going to want to develop his story more.  How are you going to get your readers to feel what you did when you watched the video? 
-what is your purpose of mentioning him?


-consider what you want the focus/position of your final article to be
- do you want to talk about the fact that our homeless population is growing?  That we don't have enough resources for them? If that is the case you need to look into what resources are available and how they aren't enough
