Multilingual
Language
is an international form of communication. My ideas of language are somewhat
similar to those of Author Gloria Anzuldua. In the article How to Tame a Wild
Tongue she speaks about having multiple languages linked to Spanish. I believe
there is different ways to speak Spanish. For instance when speaking to your
parent we tend to speak proper Spanish verses when speaking to friends it’s
more of a slang Spanish. Even English has different ways of speaking it. This
article cannot get more real. On a daily basis we see these things happening
like those of Anzaldua. Some people are ashamed of speaking Spanish because
they live in America. Why be ashamed of your roots. Being bilingual can
sometimes identify your background. Anzaldua mention that “ethnic identity is
twin skin to linguistic identity-I am my language.” In my personal view
Anzaldua is saying it should be an honor being bilingual.
