- Select a text that has to do with your social issue
- ex: article, book, show, movie, commercial, ad, speech, poem, building, etc.
- Write a paragraph response about your text. This can be any kind of response
- ex: summary, why you chose it, what you liked about it, why it caught your interest, what it made you think of or realize, etc.
- Break it Down
- What genre is it?
- What topics/ideas/points are discussed in the text? You can list as many as you can think of.
- What rhetorical strategies does the author use? Create a list like we did in class.

"Because I love you" is a organization for violent and abusive relationships. the statement "because I love you" is used to gain power over their spouse or create a pattern of mind games. this organization caught my attention because majority of teenage and older relationships are viewed as happy, secured, yet abusive. we have become accustomed to emotional abuse. I like this organization because it actually calls out everything we "think" is love and it empowers us about control statements of spouses. this is a creative genre as you can post flyers, right poems , host events al about abusive relationships by using the hashtag #thatsnotlove.(check out the video "because I love you" by clicking on this link.)https://youtu.be/4JYyHa03x-U
