Drug addiction is defined as a chronic, relapsing brain disease that is characterized by compulsive drug seeking and use, despite harmful consequences. It is considered a brain disease because drugs change the brain: they change its structure and how it works. These brains changes can be long lasting and can lead to many harmful, often self-Destructive, behaviors. Drugs are substance which has physiological effect when ingested or introduced into the body (www.drugabuse.gov). There is much type of drugs. Some are heroin, cocaine, MDMA, steroids, marijuana and many more types of drugs. These drugs affect the body in much way. They can also affect the families of the drug addicts. I choose drug addiction because one of my family members where addicted to drugs from a small age.  Are family was hurt in many ways like he was hurting.

The effects are noticeable a drug addicted. Some effects are total loss of appetite, depressed restlessness. The effect depends on the type of drug you are addicted to. For example Methamphetamine effects are: total loss of appetite, extreme weight loss, excited/ talkative. Cocaine effects are: Depressed, dilated pupils, hallucinations and paranoia. Marijuana effects: craving for more marijuana, irritability, restlessness, depression, anxiety, nausea, stomach pain, runny nose.  MDMA effects are: Nausea, chills, sweating, muscle cramping, dehydration, high-blood pressure and many more. There are also physical effects. Physical effects are psychological effects. Some psychological effects are wild mood swings, depression, anxiety, paranoia, violence. Decrease in pleasure in everyday life, complication of mental illness and hallucinations, confusion.
