Beyoncé song: Pretty hurts
Beyoncé wrote the song with Sia Furler. Beyoncé meaning of the song was finding beauty in imperfection. ''Its really difficult to find a song with such a strong message that doesn't feel preachy"(song facts pg. 1). Pretty hurts won in the category for best song with a social message. Beyoncé says there's too much pressure on women to be beautiful.

The Artist is saying that it is just another stage pageant. She is going to take the crown without falling down. She also saying how she is going to be in the pageant show to take away the pain. Beyoncé is saying that pretty and that we shine the light on whatever's worst. Perfection is a disease of a nation. Beyoncé is also saying how we try to fix something but you cant fix something you cant see. Its the soul that needs surgery.

The artist refers to someone with blonde hair and a flat chest . She then says the TV says  bigger is better. She also is talking about how the magazine vogue says that thinner is better.

Beyoncé is saying that a doctor or pill can't take the pain away. She states that the pain is inside and nobody can free you  from your body. She talks about how its the soul that needs surgery and plastic smiles and denial can only take you so far. She talks about how you break when the fake façade leaves you in the dark . You are left with shattered mirrors and shards of a beautiful girl.

Beyoncé is saying when you are alone and lying in your bed and you reflection stars right into you. She then asks the question Are you happy with yourself ? She also say s that when you strip away the masquerade and how the illusion been shed.
